The Automation Platform Team is responsible for developing and maintaining products and solutions used in applications such as autonomous loaders, trucks and drill rigs. A critical element in these applications is connectivity which enables these advanced systems to communicate reliably.

Your Mission

We are currently looking for a Systems Designer with a focus on Networks & Automation to join our  Network & Connectivity Solutions Team. The team is responsible for setting up the foundations to enable reliable, secure and efficient communications in extremely demanding environments and applications. Your mission will be to develop, maintain and support a wide variety of networking solutions for mining machines, ranging from safety critical, real-time video, to remote and autonomous operation. You will work with both on-machine Ethernet networks as well as different types of wireless network technologies connecting the machine to the mine network.

Your profile 

To be successful in this role, you should be able to work in a team but also take responsibility and work independently when needed. You thrive with hands-on research & development tasks and enjoy working with advanced embedded electronic and software systems. You are curious and eager to learn as well as have strong problem-solving skills. You are not afraid of trying new things and challenging old assumptions within your field of expertise. You are collaborative and willing to share knowledge and experience. You will actively participate in various projects and proposing appropriate technical solutions, therefore, a good ability to communicate in English in both speech and writing is necessary.

We believe you have a degree in the field of electronics, automation, telecommunications, computer science or equivalent work experience. You have a great interest in networking technology, wireless communication, cybersecurity, electronic control systems and industrial automation. To succeed in this role you need solid knowledge and experience in the following areas:

Networking/Datacom
Ethernet, LAN/WLAN, IP, TCP, UDP, SNMP
Mixed traffic networks: real-time and non-real time
Linux OS, Linux Shell Scripting
Docker/containers and virtualization
Python, C++
Realtime video streaming

It will be seen as an advantage if you have experience with telecom networks such as 4G and 5G.

Location and travel

This position is located in Örebro, Sweden and can be performed in a hybrid way. An exact split between remote and office work is up to further agreement. Occasional travel is required.
