Infra Architect

A System Admin is responsible for providing the overall support so that IT infrastructure is up and running fine all the time. If there is any issue or incident is reported in IT application or infrastructure, then System Admin is responsible for resolving the issue and restoring the services.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Participate in Projects kick-off meetings and provide required information.
• Building and commissioning of new WAS/Pega environment as per requirement.
• Provide assistance in performance monitoring using heap and thread dump analysis. Fine-tuning of existing IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) environments, apply fix packs and application deployment in WAS.
• Pega release deployment using Pega Dev studio. Upgrade Pega environment and Hotfix deployment.
• Configuration of WAS resources such as JDBC drivers, data sources, JMS connection, global security, Single Sign On (SSO), Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates, Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) and Connection pooling etc.
• Perform migration of WAS/Linux environment from lower version to higher version.
• Provide technical assistance for infrastructure related issues. Incident management in SNAP tool, bug/Issue tracking in Jira.
• Writing and running SQL queries in SQL developer tool for production support.
• Support BAU activities for smooth functioning of project/application.
• Responsible for creation of shell scripts and/or ansible playbooks for automation of task.

Skills Required

• Exposure to overall project architecture, application deployment and infrastructural layout along with Knowledge of clustering, load balancing and High Availability fundamentals along with networking exposure.
• At least 10 years of experience in Administration of IBM Products i.e., WebSphere Application Server v8.5.5 and above, IBM HTTP Server v8.5.5 and above, WebSphere MQ (v8.0, v9.0).
• Experience in configuring SSL certificate using ikeyman tool, Configuration of SSO, configuration of Web Sphere Application Server resources like JDBC Providers, Data Sources and Connection Pooling to connect to Oracle & DB2 databases.
• Experience in installing/upgrading Pega platgform v8.6 and above.
• Exposure in Linux administration/well versed in Linux commands, Shell scripting, Knowledge of automation using Ansible tool.
• Must possess excellent analytical, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills along with ability to negotiate priorities.
• Knowledge of tools like JIRA, SNAP, SQL Developer tool, Grafana, GIT etc.
• Knowledge of other application server like Apache Tomcat Application Server.
• Experience on formulating and implementing IT security standards.
• Possess excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
