Server and Network Engineer

Role description
The Server & Network Engineer carries out advanced technical support, problem management and maintenance, optimize, dimensioning and take part in designing new strategic operation techniques for chosen infrastructure. The Server & Network Engineer working closely with our development teams to make our solutions running at their best possibly on the runtime environment.

As an Application Specialist (i.e. Server and Network Engineer) you will be part of a global organization which delivers Telematics solutions to our stakeholders and customers. Service Operations is represented at six sites; Gothenburg, Bangalore, Beijing, Tokyo, Greensboro and Curitiba. Important elements of the position are understanding operations in a Linux and Java based environment. Equally important is the understanding of Telematics and communication over mobile networks. We expect you to have the ability to troubleshoot in a complex operational environment involving multiple partners or suppliers, and to have the attitude ?we are ready only when the customer is satisfied?. The work shall be carried out on our premises at NAVET (Lindholmen Science Park) Göteborg.

Mandatory competencies:

Good UNIX or Linux (preferably RHEL) knowledge
Managing an Application Server (preferably JBoss or Tomcat)
Troubleshooting web applications, web servers and Linux systems
Understanding data communication (e.g. Firewall, Loadbalancers, Telecom, Radius etc.)
Script programming (bash, Ruby, perl)
Complementary competencies:

Cloud environment
Logging (Splunk, Elk)
Monitoring application (Nagios)
Big Data
Service Discovery (ZooKeeper)
Configuration Management (Puppet)
Microservice Architecture
NoSQL Database (MongoDB, PostGresSQL)
