Role summary

We are looking for an experienced Software Architect to make intuitive high-level decisions for software development. You will see the “big picture” and create architectural approaches for software design and implementation to guide the development team.

A great software architect has a strong technical background and excellent IT skills. They are experienced in designing and possess the ability to develop a unified vision for software characteristics and functions.

The goal is to provide a framework for the development of software or system that will result in high-quality IT solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with other professionals to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new software or applications
• With limited direction, configures software or creates/modifies software code to meet business requirements;
• Creates and executes test plans for software modifications and facilitates transfer into production.
• Confers with customers and team members to determine requirements;
• Designs systems that address and solve corporate business needs; utilise business and systems knowledge to best meet customer and organisational needs.
• Manages and maintains controls and procedures, ensuring that assigned IT areas are performing significant tasks on schedule and within expense parameters.
• Establishes, monitors, and improves service delivery levels including reliability, availability, accuracy, serviceability, and cost.
• Interfaces with all levels of management to develop requirements and obtain approval for the implementation of new systems.
• Successfully communicate all concepts and guidelines to the development team
• Oversee progress of the development team to ensure consistency with the initial design
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineers

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a software architect, at least 6 years of experience
• Understanding of SAP Cloud products roadmap around and how it integrates with on-premises
• Experience with SAP Web IDE, HANA, OData, SAP Gateway, XML, and BTP technologies is a plus.
• Experience in software development and coding in various languages (Java, Python, C#, C++, etc.)
• Excellent knowledge of software and application design and architecture
• Familiarity with HTML/CSS, JavaScript and UI/UX design
• Familiarity with messaging systems such as RabbitMQ and Apache Kafka
• Experience in designing and using relational and non-relational databases such as MS SQL, HANA DB, Postgres, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, DynamoDB, and Redis.
• Understanding of software quality assurance principles
• Outstanding communication and presentation abilities
• Experience with cloud-based technologies like HANA Cloud, AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Ability to operate independently or as part of a team and complete agreed-upon deliverables within established timeframes.
• Verbal and written fluency in English

Preferred qualifications:

MSc/MA in computer science, engineering, or relevant field

Proven Track-record from previous positions (e.g. recognised achievements & deliveries)
