Despite the difficulties we are faced with around the globe, our industry is changing to a new normal state with no going back. You can honestly even say that the change is now accelerating. Autonomous, Connected, and Electrified will have an increasing impact on our products as well as our way of working. It opens up endless new opportunities. At the department of Embedded Software - Main Systems (ESM), we embrace the challenge to continue contributing to Scania's success within this new environment, and we like to be at the forefront of this change.
At Main Systems you will be part of a community of equally skilled and passionate engineers that work closely together. Agile is a cornerstone in our way of working not just to achieve speed and customer satisfaction but also to improve our working situation continuously. We work close to the end product (trucks and buses) and you will have the possibility to work with developing function in the morning and test it in a vehicle in the afternoon. You will not just be able to see and touch the things you develop you will be able to drive them. Our development sprints include all activities including requirement handling, programming, and testing.
We develop embedded systems and functions, ranging all the way from platform SW to advanced driver assistant systems. Together we have the responsibility for the central control units in our trucks and busses, and it is within that system our SW will contribute to our continued success and ability to navigate through times of change.
In our team, we get a large knowledge of the Scania vehicles and onboard functions since we develop a system involving a lot of basic vehicle functionality. You should have a bit deeper competence in either test automation and python or embedded C or Matlab Simulink development.
We welcome experienced engineers as well as recently graduated applicants – the available positions are adaptable. We also encourage persons who want to broaden their perspective with multiple skills, in our quest for true cross-functional teams.
As a person, you love being part of a team with a common goal, where you are challenged by new situations and problems. You are curious, open-minded, and eager to share your experience with the team, as well as grow your own expertise. You can apply your experience and knowledge from the customer or user's perspective.
You have a B.Sc. or M.Sc in the fields of embedded systems, mechatronics, computer science, electronics, or relevant work experience. However, your attitude, mindset, and personality are of equal importance.
Fluency in English both written and oral is required. Swedish is meritorious.
