Lead Developer

We are looking for a Lead Engineer to join our team. As a Lead Engineer, you will be a strong individual contributor and manager who is independently responsible for large projects, with a focus on people management and project delivery. You will serve as a Team Lead, owning major projects and generating leverage through your squad. You will lead your squad and proactively coordinate with other squads and have a few direct reports.

Experience in the FinTech industry is highly recommended.

Responsibilities:

• Consistently demonstrate deep expertise in relevant technology areas and domains within your squad
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of and ability to utilize repeatable architectural patterns and approaches that work effectively in your squad or tribe’s business context
• Plan for sustainable growth of your team and work to build hiring plans in advance
• Gain experience and expertise in your management skills and demonstrate competency via your direct reports’ overall performance and structured progression, 360 feedback, and team growth plan
• Participate in reviewing both your squad and the tribe’s strengths and areas of development and help drive squad and tribe process improvements
• Have a track record of independently owning and driving the delivery of large projects through your squad leadership
• Be actively and directly involved in day-to-day execution of work to ensure the quality of delivery
• Work to ensure high-impact tech initiatives and tech debt are accounted for in your delivery roadmap
• Consistently communicate effectively and help create structured onboarding or learning materials for your team and peers
• Mentor your team and can highlight cases where team rhythm or working dynamic isn’t optimal

Technical Skills:

• Strong experience with Javascript/Typescript Fullstack stack
• Experience with React, Node.js, and React Native
• Microservice architecture, K8S
• Strong understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices
• Experience with Agile development methodologies

Management Skills:

• Experience leading and mentoring a team of developers
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Experience with performance management, goal setting, and conducting reviews
• Ability to plan and execute large-scale projects
• Experience creating and implementing processes and procedures to improve team efficiency and productivity
