Your role as Lead Android Developer

We are looking for more exceptional developers for our team in general. For this role we are looking for a lead developer for one of our projects with a long-term client of ours. In this project you will lead the android app development and ensure continuous delivery of features, as well as maintaining the relationship with the client. You will be working alongside one Android Developer, two iOS Developers and the clients web team. Other than that, you will have your fellow team here at Daresay as well.

As lead developer you will be the one who sets the architecture together with the iOS lead and the clients backend lead. As well as being operationally involved with development you will also be responsible for making sure decisions is well defined and communicated to stakeholders.

The app of our client is a well-known app used by thousands of people. The client and their team is very easy to work with and they are not afraid to think outside the box and in modern ways. We have come a long way with replacing legacy and late last year the app became more Kotlin than Java. The architecture was simplified and resulted in a lot of removed legacy abstractions.

The team have recently started porting some of the shared logic, for example networking to a Kotlin Multiplatform module that is shared between iOS and Android.

Who you are

We think you have worked as an Android Developer for a couple of years. Experience from a leading position is not a necessity, maybe you’re just an experienced developer who is used to managing stakeholders and you have the mind of a consultant, with the product and the end-users best interest in heart.

You can get a grip with the codebase quickly, and with your experience you can work without significant assistance while also reviewing the work of other team members. As a person you are communicative, and you like to coach others.

Skills needed;

- 5+ years of experience with Android Development

- Kotlin

- Apollo Client

- GraphQL

- Jetpack Compose

- Co-routines & Flow

- Hilt

Meritorious experience;

- Kotlin multiplatform

- iOS (Swift)

- Maintainance or release of one or several digital products

- Docker or other virtualization tools

- Automated tests
