Search & Big Data Developer

As a developer in the search and storage teams at Meltwater you'll be building state-of-the-art information retrieval systems using the latest technologies such as Elasticsearch, Riak, Redis and Docker.

We're creating the next generation media monitoring solutions that helps our customers gain crucial insights from what's happening on the Internet. For us, big data and deep learning are more than just buzzwords. Every day we add more than a hundred million news articles, tweets and Facebook posts to our repository of billions.

If you get excited when talking about distributed systems at scale, when discussing small optimizations of a Lucene index or when innovating on new ways to gain insights from all the world's information then you'll love working with us.

Our stack consists of Java and Groovy with some Spring, RxJava and REST thrown in. Long experience with Java is however not a requirement, and we may indeed prefer a polyglot with a demonstrated history of rapidly acquiring new skills. Having an interest in Ruby, Python, Golang and JavaScript as well as data analysis and indexing tools like NLP and machine learning, NoSQL databases, RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch, Riak, Apache Storm and Spark could also help you in this job.
