At Tetra Pak we commit to making food safe and available, everywhere; and we protect what's good – protecting food, protecting people, and protecting the planet. By doing so we touch millions of people's lives every day. And we need people like you to make it happen.

Job Summary

"Good morning!" your Teams chat greets you with a message from one of your Ops colleagues. "Morning! How was Dreamhack? Did the kids like it? ..." You spend a few minutes catching up on the latest events outside of work before you, armed with your favourite hot morning beverage, log on to your Ops tools, check your e-mail and Teams chat for anything that needs your attention. Nothing out of the ordinary today, so all good for now.As you pull up the backlog in Azure DevOps, you notice tile in the monitoring tool flash alarmingly. Firefighting mode on!- …

As Operations specialist for the Data Integration Platform (DIP), you are joining Tetra Pak’s digital journey where we are building an open and integrated data integration platform, connecting our factory equipment with the rest of the company.

You will be a member of DIP’s Operations team, which is one of four teams working closely together, developing and maintaining the platform. All of the teams are continuously improving collaboration and ways of working internally as well as with other projects and teams in Tetra Pak. We value supporting each other and do not let team boundaries get in the way of reaching our goals.

… “Ok, something's wrong here.” you mumble to yourself as you start digging deeper into the logs. Moments later, you have your Ops teammates and one of Team X’s developers in a chat and manage to correct the issue before it causes any downtime to production. Go, Ops team! (well… and, of course, the Dev teams) …

Currently, we are maintaining a classic Windows Server based infrastructure using virtual servers running on VMware while, at the same time, we head towards the future of operations and deployment, making use of containerization through Microsoft IoT Nested Edge and K8s cluster technologies.

And now, we need you to help us take the next step. So, are you ready to dive into the unknown and explore the latest technologies and possibilities together with our team and partners?

…as the first (and only?) fire of the week is put out, you start planning this week’s activities. Later this week, you have a presentation on the practical implications of utilizing containerization instead the current, more traditional setup. This is an exciting topic and you want to get it right, so you block out a few hours in between the more day-to-day activities like commissioning microservices, patching of servers, etc…

This is a permanent position, based in Lund, Sweden, with the possibility to work remotely 3-4 days per week. Up to 10% travelling is required.

What you will do

  • As Operations Specialist in the DIP team, you will:
  • Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development and proposed solutions
  • Represent and bring the Ops perspective in architectural discussions
  • Drive technical and innovation explorations according to architecture Strategy & Roadmaps.
  • Deploy new applications and microservices
  • Perform LCM activities like security patching and software updates.
  • Ensure solution design is aligned with existing and future operational standards

We believe you have

To be successful in this role, you need to take the driver’s seat in many situations. You need to look at issues methodically, engage the right people, and be comfortable taking decisions based on your analysis. You are happy to work together with your colleagues in- and outside of the team and clearly see the strengths that a truly diverse organization brings to the table. You welcome change and do not accept “we’ve always done it this way” as a valid argument.

On the technical side, you need to have

  • a thorough understanding of network infrastructure and IT architecture
  • experience and knowledge using message brokers such as RabbitMQ
  • the ability to read and understand code
  • deep Windows Server OS knowledge
  • experience and knowledge of writing scripts in languages like PowerShell and batch-script

Also, it is helpful if you already have

  • experience of working with docker, containers and/or Kubernetes

… a day later, the sun is shining as you head to the office. In addition to getting some face time with your team, you look forward to meeting up with a few friends and colleagues for some lunch time activity in the sports hall or gym and a quick lunch on the go from one of the on-site restaurants.

We Offer You

  • A variety of exciting challenges with ample opportunities for development and training in a truly global landscape
  • A culture that pioneers a spirit of innovation where our industry experts drive visible results
  • An equal opportunity employment experience that values diversity and inclusion
  • Market competitive compensation and benefits with flexible working arrangements
