Primary Responsibilities:

* Be a subject matter expert on multivariate testing and optimisation
* Conduct extensive data quality diagnostics to ensure inference is properly drawn
* Collaborate with personalisation consultants in designing, implementing, and validating multivariate tests
* Distill our technology?s performance down to a consumable level with familiar key performance indicators and visualizations
* Provide insights and develop optimisation recommendations to both international clients and internal product managers
* Use real-time analytics and mathematical models to suggest ways to improve customer business performance
* Present and explain testing procedures, models, and test results to ensure product/business owners interpret test outcomes correctly and make informed decisions
* Build/utilize tools and processes that will scale the reporting function with R, Hive, and UNIX
* Perform diagnostic and forensic analysis of product performance
* Develop new ways to view and describe our business and product lines
* Collaborate with the Engineering and Product Management groups to translate analyses into dashboard product requirements
* Collaborate with the Client Services teams to develop and present KPIs to top-tier ecommerce clients and brand advertisers
* Assist integration teams with data ETL and site quality performance analytics
* Travel may be required (<20%)

Technical Skills:

* You are a SQL jock: expansive breadth of knowledge of query operators as well as performance considerations in ETL
* You have worked with big data techniques (e.g., Hadoop, Hive, Pig, HBase, MapReduce)
* You have expert fluency in R including knowledge of package maintenance, scalable function writing, and error reporting
* You have advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, macros, maybe even some VBA scripting, etc.)
* You are proficient in a wide range of statistical topics (including but not limited to conditional probability, sample sizing, Bayesian and frequentist inference, ANOVA, DOE, machine learning algorithms)
* You have worked with version control in a large team environment
* You have had exposure to web analytics tools (e.g., Omniture SiteCatalyst, WebTrends, CoreMetrics, Google Analytics) and/or business intelligence tools (e.g., JasperSoft, Crystal Reports, Pentaho)
* You are familiar with consumer analytics and the associated metrics (e.g., analysis of online transactions, ave. order value, conversion rates)
* Exposure to a statistical package (including SAS, SPSS, Matlab) is a plus
* Experience in working with Spark is a plus
* Scrappiness with UNIX is a plus

Experience and Education
* Minimum 1-3+ years of professional experience
* Bachelor¹s degree required. Master?s degree in applied mathematics, statistics, machine learning, or a technical/business-oriented degree preferred
* Fluency in English as well as French, German or Spanish is required
* Knowledge in the Japanese language is benficial
