Position Description

The Software development team includes around 60 software developers, divided into two departments in Braås and one in Bangalore India, working closely together.

As manager for one of the Software Systems department you are responsible for the machine software development for the Articulated and Autonomous Hauler products. Your technical area will be embedded software and system development for our current and future hauler products .

You are working to build the team with capacity and capability as a whole, making the most of our individual talents. Together with colleagues and group members, you are working to set up a shared vision regarding the technology mission, meeting the upcoming disruptive challenges within automation, electromobility and connectivity. You have the accountability towards the product and thus are leading and taking an active part in the product development life cycle.

You will be part of the Engineering Management Team and by that contributing to the local technology strategy.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for people development, leadership, and coaching of your team of 10-15 engineer
• Working together with the development teams in a SAFe-environment
• Manage deliveries, resources and expenses within budget frames.
• Continuously drive improvements in processes and way of working
• Co-operate with our technology team in India (Bangalore) regarding resources and deliverables.
• Secure the use of Volvo standards and common design guidelines.

Knowledge & experience

To be successful in your new role we believe you have the following knowledge or experience:

• M.Sc. degree in Electrical/Data Engineering or Information Systems or equivalent.
• Communication skills in Swedish and English, spoken and written
• Leadership experience and skilled in developing people and teams.
• Knowledge or experience from some of the following fields
• Off-road machinery / Heavy trucks / Automotive Industry
• Software development, preferably from the embedded domain
• Android and Front-End development
• Model-based development and design
• Agile way of working (DevOps)
• Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
• Continuous Integration and deployment
