What we develop is a driving force behind the biggest shift in the consumption of moving images since television was invented. Our platform is used by clients all over the world to monetise video experiences across PCs, mobile devices, tablets, IPTV and Connected TVs.

We are looking for a skilled software engineer to join our team of exceptional developers and help us shape the New TV world.
The role
Scaling our platform to handle tens of thousands of req/s with zero downtime, providing real time reports and forecasts based on billions of log rows and building a simple and intuitive UI that lets clients easily traffic their campaigns and maximize their sales; these are some of the complex challenges that make dev work at Videoplaza really interesting and rewarding.

At Videoplaza we practice Agile development with proper Scrum (or in some cases Kanban) and rely heavily on XP practices such as TDD, pair programming, code reviews and continuous integration. More importantly, we're constantly evaluating ourselves and our processes, trying to find better ways of doing things and helping each other improve. We're absolutely convinced that in order to be really good at something, you need to truly enjoy doing it. We aim to create an inspiring workplace and believe that a great atmosphere plays an important role in bringing the very best out of every individual.

As a Software Engineer, you would join a scrum team working on new features and functionality in every layer of the product. Although you are likely to spend most of the time developing components relevant to your expertise, you will be exposed to and required to understand all parts of the system.

Who we're looking for
Most importantly, you are an outstanding software developer. We code mostly in Java, Scala and Javascript and use frameworks and tools such as Cassandra, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, Guice, Backbone.js, Git, Maven and Jenkins. Solid experience of one or more of these is no doubt a bonus however the kind of person we are looking for quickly and easily picks up new languages and frameworks.

Furthermore we insist that you have a passion for what you do and a hunger for learning new things. We constantly evaluate and try to better ourselves. We expect you to do the same and - just as important - help others improve as well.

All meetings and written communication at Videoplaza are in English. Swedish is not a requirement.
