At 5G RAN Baseband System Management our main task is to describe and specify the wanted behavior of advanced features for the 5G NR Radio Networks. We are growing our investments to support 5G deployments across the globe and as part of this we are looking for an experienced Radio Network System Developer that will join us.

The team works with signal processing, radio resource management, physical layer algorithms, multi-antenna systems, development of 5G-software simulations, supporting the deployment of our new 5G products in live networks, and much, much more.

System Management is a global organization with units based in Sweden, Canada, USA, Poland, and China. This position is based in Lund, Sweden.

What you will do

  • Engage with customers, partners, and other Ericsson units to understand technology potential, business needs and market opportunities.
  • Work with standardization in 3GPP and similar fora as global system solutions are important to us to grow markets and reduce cost for society.
  • In order to understand how networks behave, you will develop and use simulators to improve signal processing algorithms.
  • Analyze performance data from our customers’ networks and lead troubleshooting activities.
  • Work within important technical areas like wireless systems, data/IP communication protocols, physical layer algorithms, radio resource management, beamforming, cloud computing, and machine learning.

You will bring

  • We believe that you have MSc or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics or the equivalent level of education. A background in communications theory and digital signal processing is valuable.
  • 3-5 years of work experience in a relevant area.
  • An analytical approach with an interest in creativity and innovation.
  • Dedication, self-drive and a strong interest in collaborating.
  • An interest to learn and grow your skills continuously, working in team.
  • Good knowledge of 5G NR, 4G LTE mobile communication systems and/or other IP based wireless technologies, especially in the areas of the Physical Layer, Radio Resource Management and Mobility.
  • Product development knowledge preferably with an understanding of Lean and Agile methods.
  • Software development skills to strengthen product understanding and give an ability to use and develop simulators. Languages include: Java, C and C++. Knowledge of simulation environments and tools like MATLAB would be an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills in verbal and written English building positive relationships internally as well as externally.
