Automation Software Engineer

We are looking for a software engineer to work with Saab Kockums ship automation system. In this role you will part of a team developing the tool box and platform for the automation systems for our submarines.

Your role

We are looking for a software engineer to work with Saab Kockums ship automation system. In this role you will part of a team developing the tool box and platform for the automation systems for our submarines.

The main tasks:

* Development of systems in a real time environment
* Development of software including UI in Java
* PLC programming in structured text and C
* Development of unit tests
* Work with development of our automation tool box

Your profile

You have at least a Bachelor degree in software engineering, computer science or similar work experience.

You have strong coding skills and can work in both Linux and Windows environment

As a person, you have the ability and ambition to understand complex automation systems.

The following competencies will be useful for the job:

* Understanding and experience from complex systems
* Automation systems
* Java FX or similar
* Databases
* Communication protocols
* PLC programing on B&R platform

As a person, you should be pragmatic and flexible, thorough and knowledgeable without being pretentious. You need to master both Swedish and English languages.

What you will be a part of

You will be part of developing some of the most complex products that has ever been built. The team is responsible for developing the software platform used for monitoring and controlling our submarines systems. These are used in a harsh environment where reliability and safety are critical for the safety of the crews. The development team consist of software engineers with automation knowledge. You will also interact with system specialist and engineers from other teams to build a complete product. Some travel and work on submarines and surface ships might be required. A security clearance is required before employment.
