Then we have the opportunity for you!

We are looking for an exceptionally talented database engineer to help tackle some of the most complex problems in the world and drive a revolutionary transformation in the field of logistics. We are specifically looking for individuals already proven their skills in designing and constructing large, intricate systems that are also easily maintainable.

Airmee is a well-capitalized start-up backed by some of Sweden’s leading investors. Our cutting-edge technology, developed through extensive research at KTH, enables us to optimize our logistics fleet in real-time, delivering superior cost-efficiency and environmental sustainability.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a Database Engineer to join our team responsible for internationally scaling the services offered by Airmee. As a Database Engineer, you will play a vital role in designing and developing databases, as well as optimizing our infrastructure to efficiently handle growing data loads.

Our AWS Lambda (NodeJS and Python) APIs are connected to AWS RDS (PostgreSQL) instances. The entire system infrastructure is hosted on AWS.

Proficiency in test-driven development is a must, as we strive for comprehensive test coverage of 100%. We place strong emphasis on well-documented and readable code, so we expect you to write clean code and document it thoroughly.

You should be comfortable working with staging and production environments, ensuring smooth transitions between the two.

You have considerable experience maintaining and scaling up databases, in particular on indexing databases and managing connection pooling and latency.

At Airmee, we appreciate a strong work ethic, and we believe in fostering a positive and collaborative environment that encourages growth and success. Join us on our mission to reshape the logistics industry and make a lasting impact on the world.

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have:

- a minimum of 5 years of experience managing large scale relational databases

- experience working with database multi tenancy

- experience working with large scale database indexing, database replication and high availability databases

- experience working with caches in front of databases for load offsetting

- have experience handling PostgreSQL instances hosted on AWS RDS

- comfortable working with agile methods

It will be amazing if you also,

- have at least one project on a public repository (any sharable repository would work)

- experience working with Serverless technology, ideally on AWS Lambdas that make use of database connections

- you are a contributor to the open source community

- have used pgTAP (for Postgres) in previous projects

- 2 years of experience with JS and NodeJS

Why join us?

At our company, you'll have the chance to collaborate with a diverse group of highly skilled, motivated, and fascinating colleagues. We value efficiency and excellence, always striving to outperform others, all while having fun and enjoying the process of problem-solving.

Being part of a startup in its growth phase you will have the opportunity to influence the culture. You will also have a lot of freedom in how to execute tasks.

We are a remote first company with an office located in central Stockholm that you can spend time in according to your preferences.
