A better world needs more perspectives.

This requires new knowledge and new technologies. For that, a gathering force is needed. RISE, Sweden’s independent research institute and innovation partner, is that gathering force. Within RISE we have breadth in excellence, which enables us to fulfill our purpose to deliver sustainable solutions and drive the change in traditional sectors. We’re working close to all sectors in different roles, and we know that the best path to the solution of a complex problem is creative, challenging, and fun.

About us
At RISE, we have long experience in using cutting edge research and technology in applied statistics and AI to solve real world problems. In the department, we perform state of the art research in advanced statistical data analysis, natural language processing, deep learning, and explainable AI among other topics. We are looking for a researcher with well documented experience in mathematical statistics, statistical data analysis or machine learning. Does this sound interesting? We now have an open position in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Luleå, or Lund, Sweden.

About the position
In this position, you will work on applied AI and data analysis projects in collaboration with industry, the public sector, and academia. You will use statistical data analysis and machine learning to solve complex problems in various application domains, which include Life Science, the mobility sector, and the energy sector. The applications may involve other methods such as natural language processing, deep learning, optimization, simulation, or causal interference. We deliver state-of-the-art solutions to our industrial and public-sector partners, and we also strive to produce state-of-the art research and to publish in major venues.

Who are you?
You have a PhD degree in a relevant topic and a documented history of insightful work in a relevant area, such as advanced statistical data analysis, including Bayesian methods and machine learning. You are curious about different application areas of data analysis and AI and want to understand the real problems of industry and the public sector. You know that the best ideas come from collaboration, and you are passionate about solving real world problems. If you have experience working with a variety of data modalities, hybrid AI and other AI methods than machine learning, or have experience in causal inference that is considered a plus. You are used to develop your solutions in Python and experience in C/C++ is very useful. If you are driven to push the boundaries with statistics and AI, chances are that you are the right person for this job.

Are we right for each other?
At RISE we are constantly moving borders of the possible, developing new knowledge and competence for the future. We are convinced that different perspectives are crucial for an innovative environment. We cannot promise you an easy task, but we can promise you dedicated and competent colleagues and some truly engaging societal challenges to tackle. You will get to work in a dynamic environment offering professional and personal development opportunities. At RISE, we want you to succeed and feel good, because together with your colleagues you contribute to a sustainable future and to securing a leading position for Swedish industry and research globally. Here you get the chance to make a real difference. Welcome to Sweden’s Research Institute and Innovation Partner.
