Mavshack is a subscription-based SVOD service (Streaming Video On Demand) primarily targeting the diaspora from the Philippines and India. The streaming service was launched in 2013 and offers a wide selection of Filipino and Indian television shows and movies. With global licensing agreements and regional partners in the Middle East, North America and Southeast Asia, Mavshack has managed to become a truly global player in the streaming market.

What we want you to do here
You'll, together with our global team, develop frontend site and different
backend services for mavshack.com and other related websites. As a developer
you will primarily be involved with building the Mavshack sites with the goal of
making Mavshack the superior VOD provider. You will be working with the
design, implementation, testing, and release of software. You will also be
involved in planning and testing the product together with the rest of the team.
Altogether this entails assuming a leading role in the development and taking
responsibility for the user experience and its constant improvement. Since
we're about to change platform this year we want you to be a part of the new
structure and layout and bring your own ideas and your own experience to the
team.

You'll be part of our new team building the next step for Mavshack, and you
will be able to take responsibility for a part of a service that have millions of
users every month! The Mavshack team is a group of self-motivated and driven
people whose greatest motivation is bringing our content to the audience. We
give you the ability to work closely with content that is current and engaging
for a huge audience. We started our new journey by doing projects with AWS API-GW and Lambda, but the platform should be able to used without AWS as well (Node.JS).

Desired Skills and Experience

What we ask of you
We want you to be passionate about coding and a great team player, but also a
self-reliable problem solver. You have a great track record in building for the
web and like to build things from the ground up. To succeed in this role you
need to be a driven and responsible person with a natural inclination for
teamwork. If you want to shoulder this responsibility, we guarantee you a

* At least 3 years of web development
* Solid experience of HTML5 and CSS3
* Solid experience of Javascript
* Experience of working with REST API?s
* Track record of working with React and Node.JS
* Working with Lambda and Amazon Web Services API-GW and other such newer technologies is a plus.
* Experiences of working with agile development methodologies
* Huge plus if experiences from CDN, Cache Solutions and Cloud Services.

Since you're going to work closely with the content, it's a huge plus if you have
been working with video and streaming before. To manage all content we work
a lot with CDN's and caches, which we hope you might be interested in.
Internally we use Slack, Trello and GitHub to support our needs.
