Back-end developer internship

Are you a promising tech savvy backend developer? AxCrypt wants to collaborate with you! We’re a Swedish startup taking the leading free and open-source file encryption software to the next level. Our free software has an estimated 10 million users; and we’ve recently added some game changing features that foster easy collaboration in the cloud with encrypted files, along with a Premium subscription model. As an intern, you will be adding new features to the open source code AxCrypt core, the proprietary web application and API backend. Upcoming major work includes new payment provider integrations, extending the public RESTful API for password management and key management as well as supporting mobile app development in the core libraries. You’ll also be involved in general technical work such as setting up slack integrations, email and survey campaigns, server maintenance and all other things technical.

We think you have at least 2 years of practical experience with the Microsoft stack of technologies. Here’s what you need to know and want to learn more about:

• C#/.NET/ASP.NET MVC
• Mercurial SCM, Git is a plus
• XML and JSON
• RESTful API’s
• MVVM
• Xamarin
• Unit testing, NUnit
• Windows Server, IIS

Additionally, we’d like that you are:

• A person who loves to write great software, and who always leaves code in better shape than it was before.
• Meticulous and with a good eye for detail. We are working with security related issues.
• Independent and someone who takes initiative but still enjoys teamwork; AxCrypt is a team effort with a small and vibrant team behind it!
• Proficient in English. Swedish and other languages are optional but an advantage.
• A true believer in what we do!
