Assignment Description:
We are looking for a Senior Mainframe Developer to join our dynamic team.
What you will work on:
- Develop, modify, and maintain COBOL-based applications on IBM mainframe platforms.
- Design and implement solutions using DL/I and DB2 databases for efficient data storage and retrieval.
- Integrate applications with MQ (Message Queue) for effective communication between different components.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and translate requirements into technical specifications.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in existing mainframe applications, ensuring optimal performance and functionality.
- Perform unit testing and collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality and best practices.
- Maintain documentation of code, technical specifications, and system configurations.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and advancements in mainframe technology to propose innovative solutions.
- Ensure compliance with coding standards, security protocols, and data privacy regulations.
What you bring:
- Proficiency in COBOL programming language, with a strong understanding of mainframe development.
- Experience working with DL/I for hierarchical databases and DB2 for relational databases.
- Familiarity with Message Queue (MQ) technology for asynchronous communication.
- Hands-on experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining applications on IBM mainframe computers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and best practices.
