Java Developer/Database Specialist, Axiomatics:

Axiomatics (http://www.axiomatics.com/) is an exciting product company in the IT security space specializing in access control based on the XACML standard.They are a rapidly expanding, customer-oriented company with large clients around the globe. Axiomatics has its headquarters and development center in central Stockholm, an additional development section in Ukraine, and a strong American sales and marketing presence.

The position involves taking active part in the Axiomatics Data Access Filter (ADAF) team. ADAF is a brand-new and revolutionary solution for very fine-grained policy-based access control for databases, which lets users define with precision who can access which data item.

As a member of this team you will work closely with customers in a consultative role as well as with systems integration and creative and ground-breaking product design and development.

Examples of responsibilities for the company and in the ADAF development team:

Customer oriented:

- 3rd line customer support for complex issues related to the products
- Consultation on database performance analysis and tuning for ADAF, assistance in application integration planning and design, authorization policy development etc.

Product development and integration -

- Enabling ADAF to be used in various target environments (e.g. BI, CRM, HRM, integration with identity providers etc.) through Informatica DDM Java actions
- Porting and extending ADAF for use with different database systems
- Development of database-specific scripts and programs (PL/SQL and Transact-SQL)

As a Java developer and database specialist with us, you will have a leading role in developing new products in the area of data protection and security, and affecting technology choices within the company. The role will include working with advanced data access and modelling through SQL and relational database architectures, distributed database design, database performance tuning, authentication and access control. You will be involved in the development of cutting-edge data access solutions, implemented predominantly in Java.

We are looking for flexibility, commitment and a willingness to accept a variety of tasks and challenges in a fluid work environment.

Required skills, education and experience:

- Bachelor degree or higher and at least 4 years work experience in relevant field. Lack of degree can be compensated by relevant work experience.
- At least 4 years’ experience of database development and design, distributed databases, disaster planning and recovery, and database performance tuning
- Top-flight Java developer skills with a fundamental understanding of object-oriented design
- Proven experience with at least one of the following: Oracle DB, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2
- PL/SQL, Transact-SQL or equivalent
- JDBC/ODBC, XML, Linux shell scripting
- Fluent English, both written and spoken

In addition to these qualifications, we are looking for a developer who will thrive in a research-oriented environment focused on questions concerning data access and data management systems. The successful candidate will be a passionate Java programmer with a keen interest in relational databases and NoSQL solutions as well as "big data", database virtualization and ETL technologies.
