QA Test Engineer

Clavister är en ledande tillverkare inom nätverkssäkerhet, Clavister grundades 1997 och idag jobbar cirka 65 personer på huvudkontoret i Örnsköldsvik. Vi behöver nu stärka vårt QA team och söker därför testare.

QA Test Engineer

The main task for a Test Engineer at Clavister is to determine the quality and efficiency of the security systems developed at Clavister by designing and executing functional and non-functional tests. A test engineer at Clavister is also responsible for locating and eradicating bugs or errors hampering the security systems.

Primary Responsibilities

- Preparation, execution and documentation for software and hardware component testing (both manual and automated testing)
- Automation of recurring test cases in a test scripting tool (including API testing)
- Execute functional and non-functional testing based on requirements and defined use case scenarios.
- Participate in review activities of test plans, requirements, test design and test case implementations.
- Report identified defects and verify that code fixes provided by the software development team have successfully eliminated the root cause.
- Support the software development team and the professional service team with analysis of identified software faults and potential problem areas.
- Perform customer driven or marketing driven test activities, most commonly asses performance and capacity characteristics of the system under certain circumstances but also verify system operation under certain customer/use case specific conditions.
- Analyze the results of the test execution and summarize the output into test reports.
- Design and implement test harnesses (test automation frameworks) and integrate this to the test environment.
- Research functionality and implementation of current and future testing techniques and technologies.
- Maintain and improve test tools, test framework and equipment in the QA test lab.

Education and Experience

- Bachelor's/Engineers Degree or equivalent in Computer Science/IT is beneficial.
- 3+ years hands on experience with Linux, Windows, programming/scripting (C, php, perl, tcl etc.), database handling and web technologies.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.

Technical Skills

- Experience with a scripting language (such as php, Python, perl, tcl).
- Experience of TCP/IP based network communication.
- Experience of IP security is considered a strong plus.
- Experience of working in Linux/Unix environment.
- Experience in programming languages (such as C, C++, .NET, Java) is considered valuable.
- Experience of Database handling (such as SQL, MySQL, SQLite).
- Experience with web technologies, web services and browser-based software.
- Experience of GUI automation tools (such as Ranorex, testcomplete) is considered beneficial.
- Experience with agile development is an advantage (e.g. SCRUM)
