The GTEC Telecom Engineer develops, delivers and operates test environments for 3G/4G/5G. The test environments consist of complete mobile networks but the main focus will be to deliver solutions and global competence in the Packet Core domain. The Packet Core consists of multiple Ericsson products such as SGSN- MME, Evolved Packet Gateway (EPG), Wi-Fi Mobility Gateway, SAPC (PCRF) - which need to be combined and together with the IP backbone work as a functioning and stable test environment. This environment is used by testers/integrators that can verify/validate network functions and characteristic during software development or integration activities. Examples of test environment specific E2E services we deliver are Youlab, Welab, GTEC remote etc.
The position is at GFBE CF MR EMEA at Lindholmen ? Gothenburg ? but we support users globally. The work is performed in teams and involves daily cooperation with colleagues primarily in Sweden, China and Canada.
Responsibilities & Tasks:
The daily work includes analysis and implementation of customer requirements, building as well as changing product/network configurations and using system monitoring/troubleshooting tools to give best-in-class support to our users. The work is performed in teams working in agile influenced processes - cross both organizational and geographical borders. You will be working hands-on with documenting solutions, Linux systems, Ericsson product CLI:s, scripting, protocol analyzers etc. And finally you will be expected to engage in how we constantly can learn new products and improve our services in terms of efficiency, quality and technology.
Key Tasks
Integrate and configure Packet Core solutions in E2E solutions
Validate products and support systems in target test environments.
SW applications and HW Configuration Management
Trouble-shooting and user support
Solution and process development and improvements
Position Qualifications
Core Competences:
You have a Bachelor or Master?s degree in Information Technology, Computer Systems or Network Technology.
You are self-motivated, with the drive to solve problems and expand your knowledge.
You have preferably worked with mobile systems in the areas of Packet Core, Evolved Packet Core, LTE RAN and/or public Wi-Fi. Maybe you have worked at PDU or Engagement Practice - as a solution engineer, system integrator or in product verification of above mentioned systems.
You must know the fundamentals of data communication and IP networks. Experience with DNS, Firewall or Radius applications is a great advantage.
You are experienced in Linux system installation and administration e.g. Red Hat, Ubuntu or Debian.
Preferred Qualification & Experience Requirements:
You have a Bachelor or Master?s degree in Information Technology, Computer Systems or Network Technology.
You enjoy working in teams, with people from various disciplines and you can communicate with others in English.
You might also have experience from installing, configuring, and troubleshooting virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V or OpenStack
Automation in the form of scripting, using Perl or Python programing is something you are interested in.
