Software Engineer

ARRIS Linköping develops SW and HW for advanced IP-based set-top boxes. KreaTV SW platform is based on Linux and other open source components and is widely deployed around the world. Software development is organized in Function Groups taking responsibility for a defined part of our product.

The Senior Software Engineer will be working in the Hardware Support Function Group. This group has the responsibility of bringing up new hardware products, supporting/implementing external supplier SDK and the KreatTV HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer). The Linköping SW development team works closely with offices in Shanghai and St Petersburg.

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:
This role's main responsibility will be design, implementation and maintenance of SW features in a Linux/C++ environment. Typically SW development teams use Agile methods at work.
Quality is in focus and we rely on every developer to implement extensive automated testing and other safety nets to minimize the effects of regression and provide confidence during development.
The Senior Developer is expected to initiate and participate in improvements, both in our product and our ways of working

Required Skills:
Specific Knowledge/Skills:
? Bachelor or Master of Science within Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar
? Excellent communication skills with track record of contributing in a team environment
? Proficiency in C/C++ programming, object-oriented programming and design patterns
? Experience of SW development for Set Top Boxes
? Experience in Linux Kernel/driver programming
? Embedded C/C++ application experience
? Excellent written and spoken Russian
? Good written and spoken English
? 10+ years? experience
? Embedded C/C++ application experience
