What an Operations Engineer at Uprise does:

- Ensure the services we create and operate stay available and problem-free for our players
- Work on large live services supporting millions of players
- Develop tools and procedures for deploying and shipping our software in a continuous fashion
- Ensure metrics can be collected and monitored.
- Make sure alarms notifies us of any issues needing manual intervention
- Collaborate on and coordinate deployments with other EA teams
- Be on-call with other engineers on a rolling schedule
- Troubleshoot issues on live production systems

A big part of your work is to find ways of unblocking yourself and other engineers in the daily work. We think good automation and tooling are absolutely crucial to operating high-quality services.
Together with our sister studio, DICE Operations, we operate game services in several datacenters. Some services are hosted in classical datacenters on dedicated hardware. Other services (most new services) are deployed on Amazon Web Services.

As an Operations Engineer, you understand the DevOps movement, and you will take an active part in helping everyone understand how the systems work and help develop the tooling needed to let other Software Engineers manage the "full stack" as much as possible. The typical Operations Engineer have collected experience from a very broad set of technologies, processes, tools and applications.

Required:
- Experience with Linux administration
- Programming skills in Python, Ruby or equivalent
- A fair knowledge of networking concepts
- Excellent spoken and written English and ability to create comprehensible documentation

Desired:
- Previous experience with some of the following tech:
- Amazon Web Services and its APIs
- Apache Mesos / Aurora or other
- Service discovery (ZooKeeper, Doozer, Etcd)
- Configuration management (Puppet, Chef, Salt, ?)
- Database systems such as MySQL, Cassandra, Amazon DynamoDB or equivalent

Bonus
- Good command of Swedish
- Knowledge of Java, Scala or any other programming language.
