FPC seeks a Simulation Engineer to the Microelectronic Packaging Department to help us in developing future fingerprint sensor systems for smartphones and other mobile devices.

The Role

In the role as Simulation Engineer you will support the R&D organization in decision making by interpreting and presenting results from mathematical models of FPC related products. To accomplish this, you would need to be able to carry out appropriate modelling steps and consecutively solve the formulated problem, analytically or by means of numerical methods.

You will mainly be using Comsol Multiphysics to build and solve your models, either from scratch or buy interfacing CADs/layouts generated in third party software, for example, SolidWorks or Cadance. In your toolbox you will also have, use and develop scripts in Matlab, Python, Java, C++, and more.

The type of problems that you will be working on will mainly be characterized as Electromagnetic and/or Thermo Mechanical problems. Methodically you will work with computer aided design of experiments, in order to develop and improve FPC products by systematically discover early failures, control process corners, enable robust optimal design and more. Your work will influence the design and development of new products, for example, lead to or support the filing of new patents.

Your background

You are recently graduated or with a few years of working experience and we believe you have an MSc in engineering physics, applied mathematics, or similar. You know the Finite Element Method, and possess some basic programming skills in, for example, Matlab, Python, Java or C++. No prior experience with Comsol is necessary but qualifying.

We are looking for candidates that:

• have the ability to produce a computer simulation from a mathematical specification and are able to attack and solve unstructured problems
• have the ability to visualize, analyze and explain complex systems and your work to non-experts
• are highly autonomous and pro-active and capable of working on your own initiative with a minimum of supervision, as well as within a team working transversally with other functions
• are willing to work hands-on on engineering tasks to help FPC meet its business imperatives

Application

We would like to have your application and CV as soon as possible, but not later than August 31th, 2016. Your application will be handled by our Recruitment Consultant Martin Karlsson +46 736446120.
