What you will be a part of
Avionics Systems develops and manufactures qualified electronics, mechanics and software for demanding applications in aircraft and helicopters. Many of these products are developed in collaboration with other parts of Saab or external partners. Our portfolio includes for example Display Systems, Mission and Graphics Computers with applications such as Maps and Recording and Reconnaissance systems. Most of our projects are carried out in an international environment and we supply products for Gripen and for two of the world’s largest commercial aircraft manufacturers, Airbus and Boeing. Avionics Systems has over 300 employees. 
Common Engineering is responsible for engineering competence and resources in a variety of areas, Software, Electronics and PLD, Test Equipment and Qualification, Team management, Customer Support and ILS. Common Engineering is responsible for the Centre of Excellence Computers, Video and Graphics.

Your role
As Manager for Video and Graphics Software within Common Engineering, your main tasks will be to manage development competence and resources within equipment software development with the core competence areas video management and graphics software. Process management and tools for software development including adaptations for projects as well as to drive improvements, e.g. way-of-working and cost effectiveness will be within your responsibility. You will have close collaboration with the Manager for Computer Software and the Avionics Product Areas.
The section is formed of 18 employees. 
You will report to the Head of Common Engineering and be a member of the Common Engineering management team.

Appropriate professional or postgraduate qualification in a business oriented or technical discipline.
Strong business understanding and customer focus.
Understanding and ability to work in an international environment and matrix organisation.
Proven ability and interest in leading, developing and challenging the organization, management teams and employees.
Strong drive, perseverance and ability to generate energy. 

Technical competences to manage within the section are among others

Programming in C/C++, ADA95 and Pascal D80
RTOS e.g. VxWorks, Linux and Saab ERIS
System verification
Application areas such as Video management, Graphics software e.g. OpenGL, Maps, Recording and Image Processing
