PHP Developer to Leading Ecommerce Platform

Our vision is to be the leading innovator of commerce for global brands, and over the past couple of years we at Young/Skilled have built an innovative SaaS platform, Centra, serving sophisticated ecommerce functionality to brands like Nudie Jeans, Odd Molly, Lexington, Triwa, WeSC, Neonode, Teenage Engineering plus 60 more brands.

We hope you'll agree with us that we have only just scratched the surface of what is yet to come in commerce, and we are now looking for more PHP backend developers to grow our development team and help propel Centra into the global arena.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR DEVELOPERS WHO WANT TO:

* Think holistically about delivering value by helping us improve all layers of our stack
* Develop entirely new application products (we have big plans!) as well as develop, refactor and modernize existing products
* Help evolve our technology, methodologies, tools and best practices
* Actively participate in planning, design, implementation and delivery mission-critical ecommerce for some of the hottest brands out there
* Produce and maintain a clean, well-tested, high quality and standard-compliant code
* Participate in and help evolve a Kanban-ish development process
* Stay current in their fields through researching new technologies, side projects, and/or participation in developer communities, etc.

OUR CURRENT STACK:

* PHP v5.3+ and some Node.js
* MariaDB and MySQL, Nginx, Ubuntu
* Heroku, AWS, and Digital Ocean
* Git and Github
* The usual suspects; HTML5, CSS, Sass and JavaScript (incl. React)
* REST and SOAP (it's not our fault... really) based API's

SOME PARTICULAR EXPERIENCE WE'RE INTERESTED IN:

* Team-based experience PHP 5.3+ and OOP development
* Structured large-scale refactoring
* Relational database design (in particular on Postgresql or Oracle)
* Full text search (Elasticsearch, Solr or Lucene)
* Production experience of PaaS/IaaS (e.g. Heroku and Amazon AWS)
* Cloud provisioning (e.g. Ansible, Chef, Puppet or Terraform)
