Can you really reach out to the whole world, while working in a tranquil idyll in the middle of nowhere? In Älmhult you can. Älmhult, Sweden is home to IKEA Communications AB, aka ICOM. ICOM produces IKEA.com, which is visited around 1.6 billion times a year. We're also behind the IKEA catalogue with a yearly circulation of around 220 million copies. On top of that, we churn out a ton of content for social media, not to mention motion media and 3D work so cutting edge that it makes the folks in California sit up and take notice. So what happens in Älmhult definitely doesn't stay in Älmhult. It reaches practically every corner of the globe.

Right now we're looking for Digital Designers. People who know their GUI from their DIY, their banners from their breakouts, their java script from their java blend. Folks who get that the difference between bookmarking a site and blacklisting it is a few pixels thin and that you can only ask a visitor to scroll so far.

The Digital department at IKEA Communication carry out all projects towards global digital communication at IKEA, for example .com, m.IKEA.com and social media. Our mission is to create and produce excellent communication that positions IKEA as a strong, unique and meaningful brand.

As Digital Designer you will work in a production project team together with project leader, Interior Designer and writer. You will be responsible for:
-Producing high quality digital design and content based on concepts/guidelines/Wire frames and directive from Art Director and/or Creative Director.
-The visual design, functionality, usability and seamless interaction for each assignment.
-Maximizing the use of the possibilities within the limitations in IKEAs CMS/Web-structure

As Digital Designer at ICOM you are passionate about home furnishing and content driven communication. You have a user-centered approach to your design and are driven by our customer?s digital needs & behavior. You are constantly curious on emerging trends and are confident to push new ideas.

To be successful in this role, you must have:
-2-3 year´s experience at an agency, in-house or freelance.
-Strong experience working on responsive design across channels.
-Experience of working with a team to deliver communication based on creative concepts.
-Deep knowledge of visual digital design, digital layout, typography and the user experience.
-Great skills within common design software (Adobe photoshop, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, After Effects)
-Understanding of web technologies such as HTML, HTML5, CSS, CSS3
-Good problem-solving skills and a logical approach to digital design work.
-Ability to deliver quality digital work with tight deadlines
-Ability to drive your own development, learn and share knowledge
-Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
