Senior function and software developer

Active Safety develops all active safety and driver support functions within Volvo Cars. The mission is to develop world-leading active safety functions, including self-driving vehicles and be an important contributor to the Volvo Cars vision that by nobody should be seriously injured or killed in new Volvo cars. Situation assessment is active in both active safety and self-driving vehicle development. The focus for the team is to develop application software that analyses the traffic situation in order to understand if and what kind of system intervention that is required in order to avoid a pending collision.
The majority of the team is working with embedded systems but a growing area is functionality that is based on cloud functionality.The position as Senior function and software developer will be active in both concept development and industrialisation.
Main responsibilities
* Function & SW development with Simulink and Embedded Matlab as main development tools
* Development of SW algorithms within the area of active safety and semi or fully autonomous vehicles
* Develop SW unit tests
* Documenting SW and requirements
* Maintenance of issues in issue management systems (such as Jira)
Required qualifications
* PhD or a MSc combined with long term experience in relevant areas like signal processing dynamical systems control theory
* Experience of software development is meritorious
* Experience of Matlab and Simulink as modelling and analysis tool is meritorious
* Experience of SW quality assurance methods as well as experience of function development and experience of distributed, embedded control systems is meritorious
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
