We are now looking for an Engineering Manager to lead one of our teams in Core Technologies Imaging within Research & Development.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Core Technologies Imaging covers all aspects of imaging, from optics and sensors to image processing in HW and SW. We are the ones laying the foundation for Axis superior image quality and advanced features. The organization includes multiple teams, and we are now looking for a manager to lead the team responsible for algorithm and SW development.

The team you will lead works in projects covering imaging algorithms and SW from the very early innovative and exploratory phase to the implementation, development and alignment with the receiving product organizations. Our activities result in state of the art image quality and features, and make sure we continue to lead by innovation. The team currently includes 15 members of mixed age and gender, all very focused on their tasks and with significant experience and drive.

Your main tasks will be to

Lead the team and individuals in their daily activities, make sure we get most out of everyone and that they feel support and respect in and for themselves and their tasks. Make sure we work with state of the art methods for algorithm and SW development. Interact with the receiving product organizations, make sure we understand their requests and they our deliveries, negotiate if needed, and conclude and drive the way forward towards successful products. Identify and setup projects or activities around new tasks and requests, make sure the scope and requirements are clear and that each project has sufficient staffing, planning and efficiency. Develop your team and its members related to both the needs of the company as well as in balance with the needs of every individual. Perform standard management tasks like development talks, salary setting, budgeting, etc.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We believe you have a genuine interest and talent in leading people and organizations. It is very important for you to know and understand your employees, and you will do whatever it takes to make their situation as good as possible while still getting the most out of your organization. You find it easy to interact with individuals as well as organizations, and can negotiate if needed. You combine the skill of listening with the skill of deciding, and can find a good balance in between the two.

You fulfill the following criteria:

At least a few years of leadership experience as line manager and/or project manager. Background in SW engineering, both as developer but preferably also in roles such as scrum master, architect, team leader or similar. Well up to date with modern ways of developing SW, both related to technical matters but also how to efficiently run projects. Fluent in Swedish and English. Last but most important you have a proven successful track record in working with, leading and developing people. You have a genuine interest in HR related matters, find it motivating to perform development talks, to find ways to develop your team, etc. As a person you are seen as positive and empathic, combined with the ability to negotiate and take decisions when needed.
CORE TECHNOLOGIES IMAGING
Core Technologies Imaging is responsible for the development of the imaging processing architecture, features and algorithms, for the implementation of those in HW and SW, as well as for the camera sensor and optics vendor interaction and evaluation for Axis products. We deliver technology platforms on which the product development organization builds cameras. The team is also a competence center for the R&D organization in areas of image processing, sensor and optics technologies.
