Do you want to be part of creating the game engine of the future?
Autodesk is on the mission of making Stingray a fast and flexible game engine that everybody will want to use. Now we are looking for a passionate developer for our core engine team in Stockholm. Your initial focus will be on mobile VR platforms, but as a core engine developer your responsibilities will span all the way from low level performance optimizations to designing the APIs and data flows that form the foundation of the engine.
The Stockholm office is a small but growing team. You will be working directly with the original developers of Bitsquid, the engine that evolved into Stingray. You will also cooperate with other development teams across the world, including people working on related Autodesk products, such as Maya and 3DS Max. Our goal is to go outside the world of gaming and bring engine technology to other domains, such as design and film.

We are looking for a developer with:
• At least two years of professional experience
• Good C++ coding skills (note that our C++ style is closer to C99 than "modern C++")
• Familiarity with some dynamic language (could be Lua, JavaScript, Ruby, etc)
• An interest in the low-level nuts and bolts of computing (bits, threads and caches)
• Good practical programming skills (optimization, debugging)
• Interest in software design and architecture -- creating complete systems from top to bottom
• Understanding of the importance of communication and team work
• Willingness to take initiative, propose technical direction, make decisions and resolve issues
• Curiosity, a desire to learn, grow and inspire others
• An eye for quality and a sense of responsibility
• Good command of the English language

Knowing Swedish is not a requirement -- we use English as the working language. Experience from the games industry is not a requirement -- we welcome developers with other backgrounds. We want to strengthen our diversity and especially encourge female applicants and others outside the industry norm.

We can offer you:
• An exciting product with a worldwide customer base
• Interesting and technically challenging problems, that let you develop your skills and expand your knowledge
• Modern development practices based on git, pull requests and fast build times
• A flat hierarchy, where every team member has the opportunity to influence decisions and make the product better
• The best of two worlds: the stability and international career opportunities of a large company and the flexibility of a small team
• A passionate and motivated team with a strong desire to create a diverse and equal working place where everybody can grow together
• Working hours that won't destroy your private life. No overtime. 7h working days during summer months. And an “annual week of rest”, i.e. always paid vacation between Christmas and New Year.
• Engaging activities: Learning lunches every Tuesday, "Do what you want" hack days every other Friday
• A brand new office located on Södermalm, Stockholm -- the center of Swedish game development
