Senior full-stack software engineer

Kognity is a successful EdTech startup located in Stockholm, Sweden. We deliver digital textbooks to schools in more than 50 countries, which improve teachers' and students' everyday life.

Our tech team now needs further reinforcement of driven and experienced full- stack software engineers.

About the role

You are a software engineer with some years of professional experience who likes get things done, and do them well. You are pragmatic, you like when things are moving fast and having fun while at it. You appreciate smart, dedicated colleagues that truly care about you, and about the product and the technical solutions. You know the value of simplicity, and you believe in code reviews and continuous integration for the purpose of deliver valuable stuff.

You will be part of a small team of engineers that develop the technical learning platform & infrastructure. We work full-stack from infrastructure, deployment, database, python web apps & API's to pure javascript frontend apps with AngularJS & webpack toolset. Together with our Product team we also contribute to the ideation and solution stages of upcoming features & projects.

As we grow we need experienced engineers taking on bigger roles and responsibilities to ensure we can keep grow fast and develop the product.

Skills & Requirements

Your background:
* University degree (Bachelor or higher) in computer science or IT

* 3+ years of full stack web development experience (frontend, backend, deployment, infrastructure)

Required skills:
* Ability to work full-stack, that's how we've built our team

* Python/Django, Ruby/Rails or similar web technology

* RESTful API's, Websockets

* AngularJS / React, Redux / Flux-pattern

* HTML5, Javascript ES6, Babel

* SASS, CSS-Next, Responsive strategies & frameworks

* Continuous integration (Jenkins, Teamcity), Deployments, Builds

Other skills we value:
* AMQP/Celery/RabbitMQ

* Automated testing (frontend, backend, full-stack) & testing strategies (selenium)

* Experience of UX, graphical frameworks

* Grunt/Gulp/Webpack or similar tools

* Databases, SQL (PostgreSQL), but no-sql knowledge also valuable

* Working with AWS, Heroku, CDN, Memcached, Vagrant, Docker etc.
