Frostbite Labs: Senior Rendering Engineer

Frostbite Labs is a new R&D organization within Electronic Arts whose purpose is to explore new technologies and the creative opportunities that they can enable for our future games. Our areas of research include, but are not limited to, virtual reality, procedural content generation, deep learning, creating truly realistic characters and how we build and render completely new game worlds.
We collaborate with world class teams all across Electronic Arts such as Battlefield, Mass Effect, Need for Speed, Star Wars and Dragon Age, as well as the Frostbite Engine team and upcoming new games and IPs.
Frostbite Labs is expanding its Future Worlds team, exploring the boundaries of real-time visuals and potential new approaches to how we build & drive content. We are currently focusing on new ways of rendering content, truly interactive game environments, spectacular visuals, as well as procedural content workflows.
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who has extensive experience of game development, from high-level rendering R&D to platform-specific performance analysis & optimization. We are looking for talented, self-motivated individuals with the capability and drive to build innovative graphics technology, with a strong desire to explore and master new areas of real-time rendering & workflows. What skills does Frostbite Labs look for?
• BSc in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Extensive experience of game development & engine development
• Extensive knowledge of rendering and related topics
• Extensive knowledge of C++, modern graphics APIs and GPU graphics pipelines
• Experience researching, developing & optimizing rendering techniques
• Experience working & collaborating closely with strong creative teams
• Strong desire to build industry-leading technology
• Great communication skills, able to synthesize ideas and share those with the team
• Resourceful & creative problem solver with a strong focus on execution

Good to have:
• Experience from multiple game engines
• Technical demo or publications
• Knowledge of additional topics, such as physics and simulation
• Math skills: calculus, linear algebra, numerical optimization and probability theory
• The ability to take ideas from scientific papers on state-of-the-art rendering and computer science, prototype and evaluate these ideas
• Knowledge of content creation & common DCC packages
• Knowledge of procedural content workflows & algorithms
