System Engineer

The System Management team is looking for experienced, skilled and motivated systems engineers to work with technical investigations on a system level, software troubleshooting and counseling our expertise knowledge to other parts of the software organization within Sony Mobile.

The System Management team is a cross functional group of highly skilled engineers operating across the system. The overall goal with our work is to ensure that the software has the quality and performance tunings our customers expect from Sony Mobile phones.

This position will give you an opportunity to be involved in the product development cycle from startup of early prototypes until the last software release. The scope of your work is:

• The overall software, from low level software to higher level user interface and you will
• Analyze software behavior, locate problem areas and recommend solutions and improvements.
• You may also be involved in developing new and existing processes and tools to improve software debugging efficiency.

As a person you shall have good social skills and be in position to drive your issues to the very end. The work is performed in a global and multi-cultural environment and you must be in position to communicate in English without any problem.

We are looking for systems engineers with the following experience:

• C, C++ and Java systems and systemic interaction in a Linux/Android environment.
• Experience from programming in a Linux/Unix environment.
• Ability to solve complex software problems even where there is an extremely limited set of tools available.
• Deep experience in debugging third party code, finding complex bugs and in making software work.
• Used to working in a Linux/Unix software environment, command line tools and scripting.
• Knowledgeable in software security assessment.
• An understanding of low-level software and ARM assembly programming.
