Senior Test Engineer to Pingdom

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for developing and executing test plans for our complete technology stack - ranging from back-end systems and databases to user interfaces running in a web browser or a smartphone. As a tester your skills include the ability to design software for test automation.

You will lead the QA work done by the whole team. Unit tests and integration tests are written by the development teams. Your role is to make sure they are relevant, precise and of high quality. Your role also includes maintaining a complete view of the organization's overall quality work.

Qualifications

      We love the Internet and for us, the web comes first. We expect you to understand how the web works.
      We know that you have years of experience working with test strategy and developing tests for various scenarios. And of course, most of your test suites run automatically without any user input.
      Experience with System testing and Performance testing.
      Since we deploy our software across our central data centers, our global network of distributed probes and Amazon Web Services, knowledge of distributed systems is required.
      Experience with tools such as Selenium and SimianArmy/Chaos Monkey.
      Good knowledge of tools for issue tracking, repository management, continuous integration and containers. We use JIRA, Bitbucket Server, Bamboo and Docker.
      Most of Pingdom's software stack is written in Python and JavaScript, so programming experience in those languages are valuable.
      You also have experience with databases, such as MySQL or MongoDB, and are most likely used to working with Linux. Experience from message brokers is also valuable - we like to use RabbitMQ.
