On-board Telematics is looking for a Verification Engineer

Volvo Group Trucks Technology (GTT) is a Business Unit within the Volvo Group, which provides effective global solutions in the areas of product planning, purchasing, product development and Product Range Management for the four truck companies; Mack Trucks Inc., Nissan Diesel, Renault Trucks and Volvo Truck Corporation.

On-board Telematics (OBT) is a global organization within GTT Vehicle Engineering, established to secure connected vehicles supporting the increasing demand for soft products. Connectivity is a key enabler for fleet management, uptime services and advanced vehicle services such as driver assistance and fuel reduction, targeting reduced costs as well as increased revenues. The telematics components build a global telematics platform utilized by the brands within the Volvo group.

The products developed at GTT have a complex functionality, which is divided into a set of independent E2E (End-to-End) functions. When developing the E2E functions at OBT, we strive for a balance between commonality and brand distinction. This requires careful communication and coordination with different stakeholders such as Product Planning, Brand representatives and other Engineering departments.

OBT platform and technology department develop and verifies embedded systems that integrate with the vehicle electronic architecture and the telematics back office systems. You will join a tight team of highly skilled engineers, well organized with colleagues in USA, France, India and Japan.

We are looking for a Verification Engineer for the Telematics Verification team. You will work with in a KanBan team that delivers verified SW solutions for the OBT products. The Verification engineers in the team have the main tasks to develop test methods both manual and automatic, develop simulations and verify the telematics products on system level. You will be a key player in shaping the future telematics verification team!

Core Responsibilities
•Develop automatic test (SW development)
•Develop simulation
•Develop and improve test methods and tools
•Perform verification on a full system level
•Improve test environment and hands-on work with test rigs
•Perform exploratory testing on the telematics product
•Document test methods

Required Qualifications
•Several years of work experience with embedded software verification
•Master’s degree in electronics / computer engineering or equivalent education
•Relevant experience in verification tool chains (e.g CANoe).
•C or python
•Good knowledge in electronics and IT-systems
•Well spoken and written English

Meriting Qualifications
We consider experience from verification work in distributed embedded system to be a merit. We also see experience of develop automatic test on embedded software, develop simulations in CANoe and knowledge in in Robot framework and Jenkins to be beneficial. Telematics market knowledge is also qualifying.

Personal Skills
As a Verification Engineer within On-board Telematics you are expected to be independent, patient and persistent. You should be able to develop simulation, test methods and perform verification on system both in test rig and in vehicle. As we work in a multi-project environment you must be able to drive your tasks to closure on time and be able to work independently and with integrity. You should be a network builder and have an open multi-cultural mind-set as the test methods are developed globally. We expect you to enjoy working in teams and to be innovative and creative.
