Data Scientist/Analyst within Product Quality

Quality Information is a group of analysts and data engineers at Scania working with data analysis and management of information connected to the quality of our products. Since quality is a core value at Scania these results are valuable throughout the organisation.

Job description
You will work in collaboration with other scientists, engineers and business analysts to develop solutions to challenging problems. Each new assignment differs from the previous through new demands on statistical analyses, usage of new data sets and working with new people.

You will be part of a team with different specialties and responsibilities, that always strive to deliver as a team. We support each other whenever needed. To be successful at your job, you cannot forget the big picture while you take charge of your own work.

The analyses have in common that they play an important role in improving Scania's product quality and profitability. Example of assignments you will work with are prediction of repair cost and supporting root cause analysis.

Your profile
You have a M.Sc. in computer science, mathematics, statistics, physics or related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).

You are curious, have excellent problem-solving skills and a genuine interest in developing in the role as data scientist/analyst.

You have skills such as:
- comfort with relational databases and SQL
- deep knowledge in at least one scripting language
- understanding of appropriate statistical or machine
- learning techniques to use in different circumstances.
- experience from big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Python, R
- experience with BI-tools like Tableau, Qlik

As the corporate language is English, you need to be proficient in written and spoken English.
