Software Developer, in Global Technology Area Vehicle Electronics
This listing is looking for engineers in the area of algorithm and SW development for Vehicle functions. At the same time, proactively contribute to the development process to foster innovation and product focus.
Who are we?
We are the Vehicle Function Development Group in the Global Technology Area of Vehicle Electronics. We are working with the design and development of truck functions. We are a bunch of highly motivated and skilled engineers that love our work and use our creativity and current tools to design and develop Vehicle functionalities that are key for all ranges of trucks in the Volvo Group. The Software development is text based coding (e.g. in C) as well as some amount of model based design tools with code generation.

On a typical day
As a software developer on a typical day, you are
•Working with algorithms/codes
•Involved in the early phases of the function specification
•Modeling the truck functionality to describe the behavior
•At the truck, troubleshooting and experiencing the features
•Interacting with your colleagues around the world.

You have
•Worked in the area of Software development
•A strength in Logical design and have worked with modeling and simulation of functions.
•Knowledge of control systems design and signal processing
•The ability to collect data, define problems, establish facts and draw conclusions
•System design & risk management perspective
•An eye for detail
•Creativity and the mindset to constantly learn and improve.
•Positive outlook and a collaborative mindset.
•Customer focus
You may also have
•Experience of working in Agile teams
•Knowledge of tool chains like Jenkins, ClearCase, GIT, ClearQuest, JIRA.
•Scripting knowledge in Python and/or Java compatible language.
Requirements
•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electronics-, software-, computer engineering (or similar)
•Truck knowledge is merit
•Fluent in written and spoken English
