Data Center Engineer Storage and Backup

We are now looking for a Data Center Engineer Storage and Backup.

Vattenfall-IT is the internal IT provider for the entire Vattenfall Group including Nuon. Vattenfall-IT fulfils an international staffing function that provides efficient and reliable IT services and support. Vattenfall-IT employs some 1,400 workers in Vattenfall companies in Denmark, Finland, Germany, Poland and Sweden as well as at Nuon in the Netherlands.

Main responsibilities as a Data Center Engineer Storage and Backup
You will operate and maintain the storage systems for the Vattenfall group. This includes the responsibility for the:

- Keeping operational documentation up-to-date
- Daily operations with storage related tasks.
- Support of projects on a technological level

Moreover you will have a lot of contacts with internal customers for business operations as well as with the Vattenfall?s storage vendors.

Your background
As an engineer for storage in the department DataCenter you have knowledge in storage technologies and an overview on the surrounding infrastructure. A business understanding is necessary to judge if the storage and backup infrastructure should be adapted or optimized. You are used to work in a mature manner and to manage changes in the infrastructure. As a person you have a good communication style to ensure proper stakeholder management.

IT Professional / Engineer with a proper knowledge in storage and Backup Infrastructure, understanding of SAN / NAS, NFS, CIFS, IT Professional / Engineer with a proper knowledge in storage and Backup Infrastructure, understanding of SAN / NAS, NFS, CIFS, skills within Brocade switches is a must, and experience with at least of one of the major storage vendors.

- Minimum one to two years of experience in IT / storage and backup Infrastructure
- Knowledge in Datacentre technology
- Knowledge in ITIL processes
- Basic knowledge in TCP/IP networking
- Fluent in Swedish and English, capabilities in Dutch and German is a plus.
- Understanding of common operating system as UNIX, Linux and Windows
- Knowledge of virtual environment such as vmware is a plus

Location: Our office in Stockholm, Solna, Arenastaden.
