We are looking for a senior developer with the multi-disciplinary experience that the drug discovery business demands – such as an academic knowledge of chemistry, biology or medicine combined with a proven expertise in software management. The position will focus on continuous improvement of the software and business processes in Medivir with near-term goals including introduction of solutions for data warehousing, business intelligence, data mining, and cognitive systems. It is an explicit goal of Medivir to be on the cutting edge in its use of information technology and this role will be central to driving this innovation forward.

The Team Leader for the R&D Informatics group will coordinate the development and maintenance of the application landscape in the pre-clinical and clinical domains at Medivir, with emphasis on pre-clinical. This includes the development of standards, tools, and methodologies for managing software development and maintenance, such as agile and scrum. The Team Leader will also ensure compliance of the applications towards GxP and generic information security frameworks. The work of the team is conducted in close collaboration with researchers in the relevant departments: chemistry, biology, and DMPK.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop a progressive strategy for the application landscape with pro-active application lifecycle management.
- Actively promote and pursue innovation in the application landscape to identify novel ways to facilitate the work of scientists.
- Plan and coordinate the work of the R&D Informatics team in maintenance and development.
- Develop standards and policies to optimise the work of the R&D Informatics team.
- Ensure compliance towards corporate quality requirements both in terms of documentation and in terms of testing.
- Manage and supervise consultants and subcontractors.
- Participate in day-to-day operations and database administration with primary focus on tasks requiring SQL (Oracle) skills and secondary tasks requiring .NET.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with the following skills:
- Educated to an academic level in IT/Computer science or Chemistry/Biology/Pharma
- Experience in database administration in complex environments.
- Project management experience in software development and maintenance.
- Experience in working with consultants and subcontracted software development.
- Good communication skills suitable for both internal and external audiences.
- Service-minded.
- Ability to work with own initiative and good organisational skills
- Written and spoken fluency in English

Added values:
- Drug discovery and development industry experience.
- Experience with data warehousing, data mining, or business intelligence.
- Knowledge of Swedish or residency in Sweden.
