Volvo Group Telematics (VGT) provides telematics services to the Volvo Group, and to external customers in the Automotive Car OEM segment through the WirelessCar brand.
We enable & accelerate customer-oriented off-board telematics service development & delivery. Our solutions exist in Volvo Group products and in other products in the automotive industry in Europe, Asia, US and South America.
SDO EMEA Car OEM Solutions
Car OEM Solutions within Solution Development & Operation EMEA (SDO EMEA) department is responsible for developing and maintaining our solutions delivered to our external car customers. Our solution targets the car owner as well as dealers and call centers. We are now looking for an Operations specialist to strengthen our quality in production as well as our pre-production environments.
Currently we have connected vehicles on many markets around the globe and many roll out initiatives are currently on going.
Role Mission and Context
As an Operations Specialist (i.e. Server and Network Engineer) you will be part of a global Dev-Ops organization which delivers Telematics solutions to our stakeholders and customers. Important elements of the position are understanding operations in a Linux and Java based environment. Equally important is the understanding of Telematics and communication over mobile networks. We expect you to have the ability to troubleshoot in a complex operational environment involving multiple partners or suppliers, and to have a customer focused attitude.
•Good UNIX or Linux (preferably RHEL) knowledge
•Managing an Application Server (preferably JBoss or Tomcat)
•Managing a cloud based solution
•Troubleshooting web applications, web servers and Linux systems
•Understanding data communication (e.g. Firewall, Loadbalancers, Telecom, Radius etc.)
•Script programming (bash, Ruby, perl)
