Software Engineer (with interest in machine learning/data science)

Our technology is built on state of the art Natural Language Processing. We process more than 70 million news and social media documents per day. Our teams in Stockholm are a core part of the research and development division within Meltwater.

We are currently expanding our core team for a new initiative involving scalable APIs, graph databases, state of the art NLP technologies, dynamic machine learning models testing and training. Our technology portfolio includes Java, Python, Spark/Hadoop, and cloud platform. We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer with an interest in Machine learning and data science algorithms.

Skills: Technical: .Minimum 2 years of experience in developing large s/w systems (backend) .Strong foundation in coding (Java/Python/C++) with a bias for architecture at scale, deployment, and algorithm optimisation for production .Working knowledge of Spark/Hadoop or other Big Data processing technology .Experience in cloud platform such as AWS .Solid experience in different database technologies .Experience in microservice architecture and REST api.

Interest in Natural language processing, machine learning, and data science.Knowledge of a functional programming language is a plus Soft skills: .Strong critical thinking and decision making skills .Motivated and able to work with dynamically changing requirements .Ability to design simple solutions to complex problems .Handle the entire software development life cycle from end to end .Ability to clearly explain technical issues .Ability to collaborate with team effectively.
