System Architect with Java experience

Are you a System Architect with leadership skills and have a background working with Java development?

We are looking for a System Architect with a background in Java development to our Castor team. Castor is our PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system that supports the whole chain from idea to final product and it is a central business system. We support the ability to create fashion for the future and to convert creative ideas into irresistible products. Everything we do is seen and counted. Castor is a Java based system and a mix of “regular” Java development and customizing a 3rd party Java based platform.

As a System Architect you will lead the development process forward and coach a team of developers. Therefore your leadership qualities and coaching mindset will be important success factors and we especially value your communicative and people management skills. You also have to be pragmatic and can relate to a non-perfect world. You will be responsible of driving the architectural work, analyzing business needs and visions, and positioning the solutions in the system landscape.

You will be a part of an environment where you will contribute and have influence. You will work in an organization with almost 60 members. The organization is divided in three agile scrum teams that focus on project implementation, maintenance and business improvements. You will closely work together with a competent team of other system architects, requirement analysts, developers and testers. Your responsibilities

The job of a System Architect at H&M comes with a lot of responsibility – and lots of fun.

Your to do-list includes:

- Lead the development process forward and ensure the team's technical delivery
- Coaching a team of 5-7 developers, both local and offshore
- Perform code reviews
- Tight collaboration with our requirement analysts and our business
- Produce proposals for long-term and sustainable solutions that support IT and business needs
- Drive technical investigations related to our roadmap
- Together with the other architects in the area take overall responsibility for the system architecture
- Verify design and solutions from an architectural perspective

And your skills include:

- Experienced in the role as a Systems Architect
- Be cooperative and creative with the ability to propose and argue for different solutions
- At least 3 years of Java development, and with the advantage had a lead developer role
- HTML 5
- Experience in JavaScript frameworks
- Java EE knowledge, experience in organizing backend logic
- Experience on Spring Framework and Struts Framework
- Knowledge in Apache Commons Libraries
- It’s an added bonus if you are also used to working with Maven
- Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in both English and Swedish

It is an advantage if you also have experience of working with a standard platform e.g Enovia and experience of working in a distributed/offshore team.
