To the Digital Machining Innovation team – where we all share a passion for innovation and developing new solutions – we are looking for two Data Scientists who enjoys working in a setting where good team work and efficient communication is essential. The location for these positions is Sandviken/Stockholm, Sweden.

Key performance areas
In this position, you are responsible for research and development in relation to managing large amounts of data, data analysis, machine learning and diagnostics, and you develop and verify technology platforms, algorithms and software in the area of digital and intelligent machining. You also investigate our customers’ needs and formalize product characteristics and requirement. Parts of your mission are to identify and develop necessary knowledge, methods and models in areas such as machine learning, signal analysis and 3D visualization as well as in optimization, diagnostic and surveillance of processes. You develop products, software and services for intelligent machining and ensure product reliability, security and robustness by establishing necessary testing and verification methods. Additionally, you identify the need for external research and participate in these research projects when necessary.

You report directly to the Manager Intelligent Machining.

We are looking for someone with a Master’s in Electronics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Engineering Physics, and with a couple of years’ experience from working with analysis of large amount of data, real-time process data management, web applications, visualizations and/or cloud solutions. You know your way in visualization of large volumes of data in 2D and 3D, OpenGL, shader programming, web-based visualization, D3.js, WebGL. Additionally, you have good knowledge in C/C++, Python, C#, .NET, Qt/PyQt, Html5, Javascript, Css and Django. In this position, it is also beneficial with project management experience as well as knowledge of cutting and Sandvik Coromant’s product portfolio. Your communication skills in Swedish and English are excellent, both verbally and in writing.
