About Group IT

Group IT is located in Sweden, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. We are 1400 employees responsible for running the bank, developing and maintening business strategic and central systems in Swedbank.

All development is managed in projects and we deliver approximately 600 projects and pre-studies during a business year.

Through understanding and acting from the needs of our internal customers, we offer the group competitive IT-solutions which support new products and high level services to our clients.

Swedish Domestic Payments area is searching for a new team member who would like to join our journey for success. We are an international team of 14 people located in Stockholm and Vilnius maintaining and developing mission critical services for Swedbank.

Assignment specification

You will work with many different systems (f.eks., domestic transfers, E-Faktura) and meet many people who will help you on your career journey. The position is in an exciting area with a lot of new projects and regulations ongoing. You will take part in the maintenance work and securing that we have the most stable and reliable systems and that we are able to give our customers the value that they demand.

We are working in self-organized Agile team, where the team members support and challenge each other´s growth of competence in the Payments area and technical skills in Mainframe and Cobol world.

We are looking for a person with the right mind-set to learn and be eager to dig into the mainframe area and the world of COBOL. You need to be a team player willing to share your knowledge with others as well as take in what others share with you. A positive mind-set and a can do attitude should be complemented with the understanding that payment systems are among the most critical in the bank and should be handled carefully. This is a great opportunity to learn about the backbone of the financial world. where constant learning and change as a normal state.

To fit right in, you will need:

A relevant university degree or equivalent work experience within IT; 3-5 years hands-on experience of application development and/or maintenance projects, database or system design; 3-5 years’ experience working with IBM Mainframe and Cobol programing language; EU-citizenship or a valid working permit in Sweden
It’s an advantage if you have experience in one or more of the following areas:

Working experience with Banking systems or Payments area Experience in Agile way of working
Previous roles relevant for this position, e.g.

Senior Developer, Subject Matter Expert (SME), Application Administrator
This position is a good building block for a future career within, e.g.

Project Architect, Scrum Master
