About Group IT

Group IT is located in Sweden, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. We are 1400 employees responsible for running the bank, developing and maintening business strategic and central systems in Swedbank.

All development is managed in projects and we deliver approximately 600 projects and pre-studies during a business year.

Through understanding and acting from the needs of our internal customers, we offer the group competitive IT-solutions which support new products and high level services to our clients.

Payments & Deposit is a department within the Group Products IT division. We are eight teams in the department, responsible for delivering all IT development and application maintenance towards both Group Payments & Cash Management, E-commerce & Consumer finance. Currently we are nearly 100 employees located in Stockholm, Vilnius, Tallinn and Riga. During 2017 we will implement the Agile way of working in all of Group Products.

We are looking for a Senior Developer for the Clearing Sweden domain. The position is located in Stockholm and is a part of our international team.

Assignment specification

You will be a part of a cross-functional Agile team, delivering development and application maintenance activities and be responsible for a particular task or technical direction. You will supervise, coach and consult other team members, promote technical skills/ knowledge by day to day activities and planned learning sessions.

You will play a key role in resolving major and critical incidents, identifying and implementing preventive actions and delivering application changes.

In this role you are expected to independently write and improve Cobol code in compliance with specifications. You will do this by applying standard programming methods and best practices, following guidelines and processes regarding programming, design, system integration, versioning control, test, documentation, code review, security. You need to be able to read, understand and interpret complex business or technical subjects and capable to discuss or explain this data with others, either business or IT.

Working together with architects you are expected to contribute to system design strategy and decisions and propose technical solutions while taking into account system as a whole.

To succeed in the role, you will need:

5+ years hands-on experience of application development and/or maintenance
5+ years experience working with IBM Mainframe and Cobol programing
Good spoken and written English language skills
Availability to be on-call
Permit to work in Sweden
It’s an advantage if you have experience in one or more of the following areas:

Banking systems or Payments area
Knowledge of DB2 SQL and pure XML
Agile way of working
ITIL certification or experience
Swedish language skills
