Experienced Engineer - Android

As an engineer working in the Spotify UI layer, you need to be able to architect and maintain the UI presentation layer used by all teams writing views in the Android clients. This requires a deep knowledge about how the Android platform handles UI components and views, and understand how they operate on the OS layer to make our views performant and efficient to create a snappy and fast UI with smooth animations. OpenGL knowledge is also beneficial in this role.

Working on the UI layer, with our custom components requires the engineer to have an understanding of design as you will work closely with designers, transforming their vision and designs into code, and help and guide them with platform restrictions and knowledge.

- You have a deep understanding of modern Android development
- You know how to write readable, maintainable, performant object-oriented Java
- You are experienced with Android development tools
- You care about quality and you know what it means to ship high-quality code
- You have released at least one app or have a project in the works that you can tell us about
- Open source experience is a huge plus
