Robotics Developer - Multi Tower Company

The Multi Tower Company has just been spun out of Blue Ocean Robotics, where our ground-breaking patient moving robot has been conceptually developed. Funding has been raised and customers are looking eagerly forward to see the first robot in action. Hence, the design and manufacture of the first version of the Multi Tower Robot is ready for lift-off.

The collapsible, multi-functional Multi Tower Robots will replace the existing stationary overhead lifts in hospitals and in adult day care. Today's solution have limited range and are expensive to integrate in building structures. In making the robots flexible and modular, they will become the ultimate performers in the market for lifting and transferring patients e.g. to bath rooms, diagnostics, therapy, and rehab. We will make it variable in size (collapsible), with a small footprint (both collapsed and unfolded), which will enable gentle and effortless moving of the patients. An omnidirectional motoric system will make it able to manoeuvre in confined areas.

Together with one of our potential future customers, University Hospital in Køge, the concept and the business model were developed, in close collaboration with their clinical staff and patients. The aim is to augment the patient's well-being while temporarily hospitalized, to improve working conditions of the clinical staff, and to optimize hospital resources. The global demand is immediate and huge, Denmark alone will need more than 2000 robots in the near future.

The ideal candidate

You are a robotics developer, and have documented skills and a great work experience as an executor from concept to realization of robot controls and software solutions. We expect you to be flexible and a fast learner, just like our robot is going to be. You see the great possibilities in our robot, and you are attracted by the prospects in becoming part of a dynamic team, that is continuously evolving. Our working environment is busy, enthusiastic, and full of great complex tasks that are tackled and solved in close collaboration with experienced robot developers from Blue Ocean Robotics.

The robot controls and control software are going to be key ingredients for our robot performance. In its working environment the robot needs to be safe and easy to operate for both, clinical staff and - needless to say - for the patients.

You are a well structured person, you like to work independently as part of the Multi Tower team, which is innovative, likes creative thinking, has open minds and is very international. In addition we expect you to bring some of the following experience and characteristics:

You hold a degree in a relevant discipline of engineering
Need to be fluent in C/C++ and Python
Great knowledge of ROS
Qualified experience with real robot systems
Proficient in Linux systems (mainly Ubuntu), Git or other version control
Nice if you have UI/UX experience
Important to have a robotic architectural design mindset
Some knowledge of know-how in Linux drivers development
Know of data analysis skills
Nice if you know of CAD design
Lead software quality assurance, testing and validation
Some experience with parallel processing (GPU/CPU)
Maybe you know of SCRUM task management
