In your role as a System Architect you will be a part of an organization with almost 50 members with a very good working environment. The organization is divided in five agile scrum teams and one platform team that focus on project implementation, maintenance and business improvements.

The system you will work with is called Castor. It is our PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system that supports the whole chain from idea to final product and it is a central business-critical system. We support creating fashion of the future and convert creative ideas to irresistible products. Everything we do is seen and counted.

Castor is Java based system and a mix of “regular” Java development and customizing a 3rd party Java based platform.

You will be responsible of driving the architectural work, analyzing business needs and visions and positioning the solutions in the system landscape. You will have many different stakeholders within the organization, therefore we especially value that you have good communicative and people management skills. We value a coaching and motivating way of leading others.

Your responsibilities

The job of a System Architect at H&M comes with a lot of responsibility – and lots of fun.

Your to do-list includes:

- Lead the development process forward and ensure the team's technical delivery
- Coaching a team of 5-7 developers, both local and offshore
- Perform code reviews
- Tight collaboration with our requirement analysts and our business
- Produce proposals for long-term and sustainable solutions that support IT and business needs
- Drive technical investigations related to our roadmap
- Together with the other architects in the area take overall responsibility for the system architecture
- Verify design and solutions from an architectural perspective

You are either an experienced developer looking for the next step or you are already working as a system architect, and you have the glow for development. Just like everyone at H&M, we believe you are a social, open, communicative sales-minded and ambitious team player full of drive and optimism.

And your skills include:

- Background as a Java developer, and with the advantage had a lead developer role
- At least 4-6 years of development experience
- HTML 5 knowledge
- Experience of JavaScript frameworks
- Java EE knowledge (Experience in organizing backend logic)
- Experience on Spring Framework and Struts Framework
- Knowledge of Apache Commons Libraries
- Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in both English and Swedish
- It is an advantage if you have the following experience or knowledge:
- Experience of working with Maven
- Experience of working with a standard platform e.g Enovia
- Experience of working in a distributed/offshore team

The role is a full-time position based in Marievik, Stockholm. Travels may occur.

The IT-department is located in Stockholm and Borås and conduct business virtually all over the globe. The H&M group includes in addition to H&M the brands COS, Monki, Weekday, Cheap Monday, & Other Stories and H&M Home. As an IT-department, we work with all brands.
