Job Description

This position is a senior developer in an incubation team in Ericsson Systems & Technology group.
This highly ambitious team builds industrial distributed systems, for construction and operation of complex applications and
infrastructure. These systems intend to solve issues arising from very large scale topologies with associated networking, compute
and data resources. We focus on early directional implementations.

Our systems focus on:
Dynamic coordination of distributed and global resources.
Wide set of workloads: from perpetual to stream to batch, data volume as well as latency oriented, uplink as well as
downlink heavy.
State-of-the-art distributed resilience/consistency properties.
Novel data services abstractions, that go together with unique opportunities of networked, distributed storage and
compute.
Integrity, reproducibility, and provenance.
We use an approach with high velocity from industry and academia publications, fact-based modeling to production-level software.

Competence

Proven track record of developing production grade software.
Write code in several languages (C, C++, Java, Go, node.js/javascript), have switched their main language at least once
in their career and have expertise in C, Go and javascript.
Proven track record of state-of-the-art methodology, e.g., Git, CI, QA.
Proven track record of being a leader among developers.
Prior success in developing, deploying, operating, and automating a real-world production environment
Know, understand and are interested in distributed systems, scalability, operating systems, networking, automation and
governance
Have experience with open-source projects and a track record of contributions to open-source communities, for example,
ZFS, Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, OpenStack et al.
Take pride in their code and appreciate feedback, discussion, and iteration with experience in driving a vigorous code
review process
Ability to work across teams, with the company’s larger goals in mind.
Value testing and understand how to safely and continuously deploy into production environments
Excellent communication skills (written and spoken), including ability to communicate complex topics in easily
understandable ways
Senior level experience (5+ years)
MSc or PhD in CS, EE, Mathematics or equivalent
